I wrote this poem in honor of my mom on the night she passed away.
You ran the good race and fought the good fight
To all who knew you, you were a bright light
Though your time on this earth is through
Those who loved you will always remember you

You were a loving wife by your husbands' side
You were a perfect mommy who held me when I laughed or cried
You were a best friend to everyone you knew
Most importantly you were a servant for the One who created you

You trusted in God when you were afraid
When you were hurting, you praised and you prayed
You taught me about faith and how to be strong
When I was falling you loved me all along

So now your time of rest has come
We are happy for you, though we will be sad some
Relax in your heavenly home above
And know we will always remember your gift of love.
