Trying to cover up your feelings
Appearances Count

The smile is plastered on my face,
I feel like it’s chiselled on,
Like I am a statue trying to persuade everyone I’m okay,

But I’m not

The outside appearance is what counts,
It’s all they can see,
They can’t see into my heart,
See it breaking,
See it aching,
See it dying,
All they see is my crying
