How someone can hurt you so badly that they leave you drowning in pain and sorrow
Drowning

You left me to drown in my pain,
My hurt and my sorrow,
You pummel away at me until I can take no more

Until I bend and I snap.

And yet I beg you to take me back
I’m like a druggie, hooked on you.
I know you are no good for me, and yet I cannot get enough of you.

My heart can take no more.
I’m bleeding inside and I can’t stop the river that flows from my heart.
I take a breath and sigh
My limbs shake and my fingers tremble as the thoughts of you rush into my mind

There is no escaping you.
You are everywhere I look, no matter how hard I try.
I close my eyes and there you are, creeping into my dreams
I can’t let you go, I don’t want to either.
I leave you there and live in my few precious moments.
Then I open my eyes and you are gone again.

You leave me.
You leave me to drown in my pain all over again.
