Written during one of my lazy days by my favourite lake
Crashing waves, together with you I sway.
My eyes enticed by patterns askew
while my heart sinks deep
within the current’s rolling grasp.
To its shades of grey am I charmed
and to its delicate hints of blue,
by which the liquid is contained.
Tell me, is it the melted metallic hues
which capture me?
Or the subtle signs of breathe I see,
innocent and perfectly, wonderfully,
tauntingly, content?

Nay

It is the promise of sweet relief
by which I find myself unbrokenly drawn.
Ah, to be wrapped by your graceful embrace!
To replace these toxic fumes with
numbing, merciful, air.
And be no longer perplexed but soothed
by your ageless wisdom.
To release this anguish, to forget
to suffer no more.

Oh soft ripples do not refuse me!
Let me step in time to your
God given dance.
Cocoon me with unfeeling liberation
And bestow upon me
Your eternal grace

Let me die by your side!
For together with you
I sway.
