Title piece for a high school English project. Where I'm From Poem
I am from goodness,
The wholesomeness found in everyday life.
         Small joys taken for granted.
         Passion,simplicity, and art.

I am from music,
That wonderful country that has one universal language.
A powerful magic as potent as love.
The mixed emotions that come from the heart and become living art.
Notes embodying human nature and humanity itself.

I am from Nature,
A wondrous thing of golden horizons throughout day and night.
Its majestic mountain peaks soaring far above.
The cool, roaring sea rushing upon the shore with a harsh rasp.
Warm, enriched earth covered with gorgeous green grasses.

I am from the ever-changing seasons,
Spring's wet squalls giving dewy life to budding foliage still in its infancy.
The bright cheeriness of summer, the golden age of life itself.
Aged beauty found within crisp autumn leaves of rich hues as they die away to allow the fallowness of bleak winter.
Of chill winter evenings, deathly pure in tehir silence, spent at the blazing fireside and waiting for the hopeful return of spring and promised life anew.

I am from written words,
         Inspired by nature's tender hand.
Telling complex stories of long ago, of fairytales hidden deep within fairy lands yet to be discovered by others.
Embracing the child-like innocence never truly lost in the most imaginitive of creative souls.
Expressing unique oneness with all parts of my inner self.

I am from the elements,
The fiery passion that feeds the flame of my soul.
Fertile earth that keeps me grounded to my ideals, yet also gives life ot distant dreams.
Wind filling my lungs to spread originality unabashedly across the world.
A roaring rush of roiling water to clease the imperfect spirit.

And I am who I am because of where I am from.
