a play on words
WORDS~~~~~
What can be a secret?

A whisper? Or A lie?

Can be used to reveal a truth

Or used to make you cry?

What comes to us in poetry

And makes it fun to rhyme?

It’s obvious and condescending

showing up just in time.

Some of us hang on every one

and some we end up eating..

Some come out too quickly

While some are worth repeating

Some never need to be spoken

For they are known with just a touch

With them you can express yourself

While others can hurt so much.

I like to make them up

and I love manipulating

I’m rarely at a loss for them

I find BIG ones stimulating

Without them I would not be here now

I suppose neither would you

Nor would there be any poetry

For all of us to review.

It can be all a man has

or be the best part of a song

Can get us in or out of trouble

and sometimes be taken wrong.

Some of us misuse them

and often take them for granted

I will be the first to confess

With them, I’ve Raved and Ranted

But as much as we love them

we neglect to appreciate

How powerful are the emotions

they can sometimes create.

To imagine life without them

Is the craziest thing I’ve ever heard

But hearing what you had to say

Leaves me hating every WORD
