A poem about trial, sadness, and living in turmoil while watching it surround you.
Eye of the Storm

Dark clouds surrounding me

Mark out my grave

Stark white entwined with gray

Part the heavens and the sea.

Alone within the shattered clouds

Paroled to watch and wait

Souls ripped and torn by

Boulder rain and torrent.

Wrenching swirls pay me no mind

Drenching me with doubt

Leeches of emptiness brought

Clenches all lost souls.

Feeling life be stole away

Stealing all my spirit

Zeal for joy left squandered

Steel my lone heart’s castle.
