A poem about angels of death
Shinigami
You are a Shinigami
An angel of death
forever wandering in a realm of darkness
You are one who took their own life when you were human
Who wanted to die
But no, you can never die
Instead, you became a shinigami
I am but a mere human
Who you told was fated to die
In less than a year
When my time is up, you take my life
It’s as simple as that
So why can’t I make it even more simple
And have you kill me now
So I can join him
The one I love
You’re supposed to kill, not save
So why can’t you kill me?
He left for another country
But before he left, he told me that he loved me
I could not answer him right away
For I was too embarrassed to reply
He said, if you can’t reply, then forget me
Forget all about me
Never I said, never
I won’t give up these memories
Even if I die
Hours after I said that
I received word that he was dead
Why God, why?
Are we fated to stay away?
Living is too hard, too painful
To know that he is dead
My regrets were immense
So I lived my life in denial
Forcing myself to believe
To believe that he is alive
I locked my feelings in my heart
But I know
As long as I’m alive
He will move further away
so kill me, kill me now
He is waiting for me
You silently nod, with tears in your eyes
I smile and hold my arms out
I’m coming back to you
And with one swish of your arm
You sever my soul
And I am finally able to see him
Again at least
He’s waving at me
He’s smiling at me
I rush over into a large embrace
“We will be together forever” you say
Together forever
