A silly little poem while at work :)
Dormir

I wake in the morning, my stupid alarm
Interrupting my dreams, of my days on the farm

Riding around, with my hair unfurled
On my beautiful mare, not a care in the world

Not thinking about the mortgage, or those God awful taxes
Not about that trip to the dentist, or sending off faxes

Instead I ride my horse, thru rolling green hills
With blazing speed, how I cherish the thrills

We wade thru streams, and cross rivers alike
Nothing can stop us, we welcome the hike

Thru dense dark forest, we plow our way thru
Without the least bit of fear, and never throwing a shoe

On the distant horizon, we are approaching the sea
But to my surprise, something is annoying me

I hear a sound, that I’ve been dreading for years
My little legacy is over, it brings me to tears

I have just enough time, to kiss my horse goodbye
My eyes pop open, and I breathe a heavy sigh

Another morning is here, having come all too soon
I want to go back to sleep, and ride under the moon

I yearn for the night, when troubles of the day I no longer wonder
When my mind is free, and rest in blessed slumber…
