The poem is based on one version of an ancient Greek legand. I welcome feedback.
Persephone

I am Persephone once free to fly,
As free as a heron is to fly but
Hades stole me to the Underworld to
Be his wife. My mother mourned, her tears laid
The earth barren as green as the land was,
No more, for my mother is Demeter
God of harvests. I felt caged, like a bird,
A prisoner of the underworld, then
Zeus commanded my return to save the
Earth but Hades tricked me and my soul doomed -
The pomegranate was consumed by me.
And the price of six seeds was six months of
each year to be spent in the Underworld.
Poor Persephone, for all eternity.
