Dedicated to a mother I hardly knew.
Mother Dearest

If only I had known you, from birth, before growing wild.
Then there would have been time, for bonding of mother and child.

I never understood, then... why we were strangers;
although now that you are gone, I guess we'll never know.

You grew up without a dad, in this together we shared.
Of not haveing what we craved, a man who really cared.

You tried to substitute him, in the men you loved.
I've never given my heart... or soul to satisfy a whim.

To fill the vast emptiness, you gave life times eight.
Some unsure of their birthright, but did your need abate?
