This poem is about a lesson I learned from watching a thunderstorm.

I am watching a storm rage on,
such a massive display
Hovering the earth beneath it.
Random flashes of light,
the rolling of booms in the distance.

A man walks on the street,
Almost oblivious to what's going on,
He seems so small and insignificant.

My eye notices a spider above,
it hangs onto its web,
frozen in place,
probably watching too.

As far and wide as the eye can see.
Such a show!
It is very enticing and relaxing,
Such a wondrous display!

I see in the corner of my eye,
a person inside,
So focused on what isn't real.
Such a tiny little box,
that seems like the whole world to us.
It drives our imaginations,
to a controlled setting.

It's a lot like life.
In all its randomness,
nothing can be controlled,
there's only the illusion of it.
