Written about a close family member and their struggle.
He’s dying
No one says it, but everyone thinks it
No one wants to admit it, but everyone thinks it
You don’t get better from his disease
You only get worse
There’s no cure
There’s no anecdote
There’s no magic elixir
There’s only prayer
And hope for a miracle
And love for what life he has left
His last resort is an option he won’t have
His pride is too strong
His fear of imposition is too great
He won’t have it
He’s not giving up, he’s just stopped playing
He’s not forfeiting, he’s just a spectator
He’s waiting to see what God has in store for him
And I guess we have no other options
Than to wait with him
