The Bottle
by: Thomas J. Kent

You drown your sorrows in the Bottle,
I hate you when your like this.
Jump in the car and hit the throttle,
drive away before I slit my wrist.

Someone else you become,
Someone I don't even know.
This beast you must overcome,
these demons you must let go.

Oh my love for you,
without the power of the drink.
For all the good you do,
you act as if you don't think.

When the poison hits your lips,
I look away and frown.
All there is is beer and nips,
these things will only bring you down.

I only say this cause I care,
You have me worry every day.
To see you like this I can not bare,
I don't know what else to say...
