a view on what starts truly are and the irony in this view
I wish upon a star
but unannounced to me
it has faded away
in the past century
and the light from the star
has yet to disappear
from my sight on the earth
from which I thought it was near
so my wish goes out from my praying hands
out into the wild winds and through the fleeting sands
out across the ocean blue and straight into the clouds
up into the sky to join the other wish made crowds
and all the wishes come together in charging full force
welded together into a brightly lit scorching gleaming source
and as it goes into the sky and leaves our gravity
I sleep hoping for the best without knowing this depravity
the fact that shooting stars are not stars at all
but are all the wishes unanswered that were made just to fall
and as they shoot around the space in the cosmos above
the ones that sit still were the ones found with love
the stars inside the sky are wishes that were saved
wishes answered to all the people who sat pleadingly and craved
and when they go out and finally stop to exist
it means the people on the ground no longer need their twist
their magical gifting sense
to give a free miracle without asking back a penny or pence
its ironic though once you realize
that the shooting stars in the sky are only flying lies
are only wishes that die and never came back with fortune
all the while the hopeful fools wish to this distortion
so in the end space will only be expanded
as the people on the earth plea parallel handed
either more a shooting star will then be spotted and seen
or the sky above will be filled with a bright light sheen
and the constellations will always be on top
representing the wishes that are made non stop
the wishes made by evil folk that continue to unfold
the murders and the crime that has grown as old as mold
because today with open eyes I see something bad
the fact that there is more destruction than people being glad
so in fact this must be
that the constellations are stars of wishes granted every century
and other stars not as strong are wishes made of good
wishes that granted peace in homes in the neighborhood
wishes of love and wishes of fame
amongst the strongest stars that are wishes of shame
so next time you wish with a star filled eye
think what kind of star you want to create which star that will not die
if you want disaster wish upon a constellation
most likely this wish will be given a speedy invitation
but if you wish for good while you hang on a whim
stop your foolish wishing because chances are too slim
