A marriage vow for a poet at heart. Until death do us part...
I may not be your perfect princess
dazzled in diamonds with wealth and fortune to give you;
nor can i give you
your every dream.
I can't read your mind
or be your gypsy maid
and magically give you your hearts desires
at a snap of my fingers.
I will not be your servant
or your little bell girl
and jump at your every whim.
I am far from monet and certainly not your de gas.
Unable to paint your life
in pink pastels and dancing dolls
I am not your fantasy toy;
something you can
take out and put away
as you feel you need me.
But though my crown is tarnished,
and my magic touch broken;
i can promise that my thrown
is at your right side forever,
and no spell will break us.
And though i may be weary,
and unable to accept
your every request; or
paint your future
with perfection and certainty;
i can promise
that i will love you forever
and make a future for you
that is more beautiful
than one piece
in any gallery on this earth.
And til death do us part
this is my promise to you!
