a short poem about life.
Turning a little black key, opens the back seat leading into my trunk space. My bedding rolls out, simply an unzipped sleeping bag folded over as padding and a comforter, followed by two pillows absent of their casings. Though comfort is slightly misguiding, even though I have grown accustom to being sprawled out in a compact cabin space that is no more comfortable them sleeping on a hard wood floor. But misguiding still when I say uncomfortable. Has man suffered so much to sacrifice more of himself for comfort? Exercising a rather prolonged breath, I ask what is necessity? I begin to perspire, is it this ungodly heat even at this hour? I rub the salty residue from my brow. The question lingers still as oxygen faintly exhales through my nose. To think men are merely slaves to their own devices. A sliver of light catches my eye. I could simply shut them but it perturbs me still. First anger then ensued by sorrow, I fear man should cast such a shadow. My hands sultry, my head heavy against what will never be enough of a pillow sinks further down. My feet uncovered and curled against the driver seat. My eyes yawn ajar looking outward through the windshield. Woe to the passerby know him no comfort goes without consequence. A light breeze tickles my toes and salty dew kisses my lips, the taste provokes me. I writhe from my sleep, no longer able to bare the burden of consciousness. I withdrawal from the forum, and contemplate upon the starry sky. So you think you are that of gods, know then that even the stars expire. Less you think we are parked on this plot of dirt every good deed a quarter for the meter. I see no measure for the matter it is beyond me. Then in the distance the sun awakens from its slumber and pours out across the valley. Oh my the time, where did it go? it passes without bias and I ask how did it come to this?
