Cramp Entry using the title "A Mellow Beat" (written in the style of Quatern)
We slow dance together for one last time,
Throw caution to the wind, let's live sublime,
Stepping on my toes hearing cartilage break.
Matters not to me your eternal love I will take.

Death's clock clangs softly we ignore the chimes,
We slow dance together for one last time.
Your breathing shallows as you try a luminous smile
Death waits patiently for us..we refuse to rank and file.

Lava fills our weary bones our bodies begin to mush
Twirling like a cyclone with our faces oh so flush.
We slow dance together for one last time.
Explosive love like ours was never a crime.

We melt back into our hospital beds awaiting death,
Your heart monitor creeps along – flatline, now no breath.
Life is a dance and we have lived your favorite rhyme,
We slow dance together for one last time.
