An assignment from my amazing 7th grade language arts teacher
“First Time”
I was a scale,
Always tipping one way or the other
We ran down Half Penny Lane
Me on the bike,

He let go,
And I rode
A few feet,
Before tipping over

Shiny, stuffed frog in basket,
I tried again

In a few hours,
I felt as comfortable as
A fish in water or
A bird in air,
Except,
I was a person on my bike
