Just a Boy


Just a boy

Fifteen or so

Alone in the dark

No place to go

A poet for the passing eyes

A message for the sleeping wise

People watch him as he cries

Selfishness consumes their lives

Just a boy

Fifteen or so

Given a cruel image of the world

By everyone he knows

His confidence you choke

By calling him a joke

Making him lose all sense of hope

When he was just a boy

Fifteen or so
