another in the "Nuclear Chroicles" series of my poetry
Gaia is dead
Her skin rotted through.
All thanks to you
And those stupid ideas in your head.
The trees are shed and all animals layed to their final bed.

Now you stand nude before a glaring, flaring eye.

In your mind you scream
"Where to run? Where to hide?"
Will the other planets be so kind?

Or will they show you the same
Brutality and neglect
That you have time and time again?
No where left to go but into the unknown!

Before that burning stare
You build your new saviors.
Ships seven to be sent to heaven.
Loaded with your children frozen in time.

On the month and day eleven
Your only chance for survival leaves your world behind.

With hopes of finding a new home like the one you KILLED!

Away from that glaring eye
Your future sons and daughters fly.
Just before it overtakes you and finishes what you started.
burning all to a crisp and a cinder.

Off your children go as you wave goodbye
Before being overwhelmed
By the fire which you started.

So long you naive creature
So greedy and mean spirited
But it wasn't your fault
It was the way you were raised.

Well either way so long
May your children have
Better luck than you
And may they know your mistakes
As they shoot out into the unknown!

so long Man
