Nursing Home Visits. The smell of urine filled the air the closer she got to the rooms.
They are the Fogotten Ones,
who fought the war and won.
They fought so we coud be free
Free from the government
Thought we should be..

They now live in Nursing Homes
Days and Nights are spent alone,
They are the Forgotten Ones

Dependency on others is in despair
Family and friends
Are no longer there
They are the Forgotten Ones

If you listen closely in the still of the night
You can hear thier cries to God
Help me give up this final fight.

If we can take a moment from our busy day
We could help brightened a darkened day
We could offer an encouraging word
OR
We could just listen and not have to be heard.
They search for piece they fought so hard to win
The sound of silence thier only friend
They sre the Forgotten ones.
