Finding love when and where the words go unspoken
Words go unspoken but not unseen, unfelt, unknown
They are there, always there
Tangible, living, breathing things
Bleeding through the quiet moments of the night

They reside in the pauses of awkward goodbyes
In the silence of ending phone conversations
In those last hesitant seconds preceding front door closings
And in sighs of contentment when arms settle around something treasure

Something dear and close to the heart
But not a thing, a one
Someone, the one?
Maybe….

Fear wanders in, creeps like a fog
Thick and heavy, a harsh smoke cloud stifling words itching to be loosed
Words never lost, never missed
In smiles and eyes that say everything
