A poem about being on pain meds and my need to be free of them. (Broke my back)
Woke up today
In so much pain
Do you know what it's like
To live such a life
Where pills bring you
All you wish to gain
Not a high
That comes on by surprise
But the life I lived and claimed was mine
Clamoring and clawing to get there first
Before the pain spins me off this Earth
How can life make me so damn ill
Seeing a better one inside a little white pill
I'd like to find myself
Without it's help
But that's just a dream walking uphill
