Fall hues add mystery in a strange land.
The Fall of China in November

It is time, the eternal word is sent forth
Riding on clouds, pushed by the wind
Lazy days of summer must end
Two months ago, school began
Summer shirts and mini-skirts
Sit in the back of the wardrobe box
Morning brings a nip in the air
On the cusp of change

In Fuyang, someone forgot to tell the leaves
Memos do get lost
Here and there a touch of bright red, a splash of gold
Slightly bigger than a postage stamp, growing

Notice arrived in Jiuzhaigou Valley, Szechuan
Valley of Nine Villages
Beat up leaves clutch weathered branches
Hanging on for yes,
dear life
No where to go but the forest floor
Struggling to survive

Quiet pools festooned in hues of autumn
Mirror the last defiant act of a once proud leaf
Ripples expose the pristine waters
We too have colours to share

Artists and photographers salivate by the scene before them
Senses on overload
Hands re-creating
Capturing, making it their own
Winter on the way
