Glimpsing a new world and then reality breaks in.
Dream of a Dream

It was in a dream or was it a dream of a dream
I saw life so clearly, yet as in mist, fragile
Everything was beautiful and I was more than happy
I was content

The summer sky a canopy, brilliant blue
Flowers from a complete palate
Safe behind towering ancient walls
Studded in pink flowering trumpet vines
A feast for the senses

Where to look
Where does one go first
I wanted to see and experience it all
Become lost in a new world

Standing on a hewn stone bridge
Over a clear, deep pool laced in water lilies
Fat koi lazily swam about
Markings of black, orange and white
Dancing in a world of their own, yet calling

A solitary shadow eclipsed the sun
A tinge of fear
a fear of fear
Reality, rocked the stillness

In a moment
All became as in former times
Weal and woe
Just a dream or a dream of dream
