A poem I wrote while I was trying to get myself figured out.
Who am I?
I am strong, I endure, I fight my insecurities,
My weaknesses, my fears.
I stand up for what I believe in, I shout among the whispers.
My faith is strong and unshakable.
I have strength, but I am breakable.

I love wholeheartedly, I give him my all.
I care for my family, I am working to patch things up.
I love the people I have today,
Miss those in my past.
Spend a lot of time wishing life didn’t move so fast.

I am silly, I am playful.
I am a five year old trapped in an older body.
I like swings and puppies,
Jumping in puddles and sprinklers in the summer’s heat…
But I am the most mature five year old you’ll ever meet.

I have seen so much,
Both the good and the bad, happy and sad,
Joyful triumphs and bitter defeats.
I’ve watched people come into my life and leave me heartbroken,
I’ve seen people come only to hurt and abuse me,
Or to steal what I didn’t want to lose.
I’ve seen inner peace and outer strife,
But I accept these because they are my life.

This is me, this is who I am.
I hope to get to know you, I hope I get to be your friend,
Or at least mutual respect would be fair.
This is me, treat with care.
