A piece under construction. But please, don't let that stop you from reading and rating it
Frolicking in the comfort of light
leaves one blind to what's hidden in darkness.
At some point whether we like it or not
we have no choice but to leave brightness behind.
This journey is one of character;
showing us what we really are,
each assigned to an element
to be found in this darkness.
Do we have a choice?
Maybe if we pay close attention...
At an early age,
these are merely observations:
Water always flows as it does, unless it's still.
Be careful or you'll be swept away in the current.
Maybe still water is the best place to be content.
Fire will light the way, if you've got a torch.
Lack of control can snub out your flame or burn up your path.
Also be weary, what's right in front of you, despite the beauty, can still lead to danger.
The darkness surrounding is still a mystery.
Earth is sturdy until a drop-off or a quake.
Solidity doesn't mean straight or easy.
Inclines, potholes... Without fire, earth is unpredictable.
Air can lead you to an opening, if you're confined,
as well as help you maneuver a vessel in water.
But be cautious, wind flows freely with a mind of its own.
And so;
the force with no form becomes stable.
the form with no boundaries creates confinement.
sturdy matter becomes unstable.
the force with no origin stays lost.

It needs work, but the point is there.
