A true story of a rather comical criminal
I needed money really bad; I had mates I had to pay
Friendship only went so far, I had to pay today

Went down the street wondering just how to get some cash
Saw a lady coming out of a store and scratched my itchy rash

Rob her, I thought, great idea, easy money from the rich
I grabbed her bag and fled on foot, only slowed when I had a stitch

I turned to check I wasn’t followed; a glance, a quick look
Then hit a pole and tumbled back and that was all it took

The cops they grabbed me, held me, then jammed the cuffs on me
‘We are taking you back for identification,’ the cop said angrily

They drove to the store and the woman was there shaking as she sobbed.
I looked at her and confirmed to the cops, ‘Yes that’s the woman I robbed.’
