An angel with an attitude problem
I should only think good thoughts,
But if I see another heart I’ll scream.
I’m following the archangel’s orders
To go decorate someone’s dream.

A thousand red hearts to scatter,
And a short time to place them all.
One here, one there, one here, one there,
I need a trip to a coffee stall.

And don’t get me started on my tunic,
I wanted to wear blue.
But the angel who does the washing,
Was out getting a tattoo.

A rose was essential,’ the archangel said,
‘And required to adorn.’
Great, I thought, that’s all I need,
To be stabbed by a rosy thorn.

Just give me clouds that are puffy,
Soft and round and deep.
Then I can put my feet up,
And have a little sleep.
