Suspense of being followed by an unknown entity along an unknown path
Footsteps echo like a thunder,

As I descend down the frozen stairs of the blackened abyss,

The devil’s tritone howling in my mind,

In the chilling silence of midnight, there is something amiss,

But wait,

What was the sound I heard?

What is behind the trees blurred?

Somebody is watching me,

Somebody is stalking me,

But where?

Nowhere to be seen,

No one to be seen.

Something is terribly wrong,

In this sick air, a strange aura is around,

I still feel the presence in the fog,

Spine chilling silence all around, no movement, no sound,

But wait,

Why did the shadows flicker?

What was the quivering in the wicker?

Somebody is watching me,

Somebody is stalking me,

But where?

Nowhere to be seen,

No one to be seen.

Tension increases with my pulse,

As an owl hoots, breaking the silence of the quiet night,

A strange mist surrounds the ghastly, moonlit stairs,

Is this the welcome for my arrival, or the devil’s own rite?

But wait,

What was that touched my hand?

Does that odour I smell belong to this land?

Somebody is watching me,

Somebody is stalking me,

But where?

Nowhere to be seen,

No one to be seen.

A scream so deadly freezes my legs,

My head, it turns around to see,

The sight, the sight, the sight oh so devilish the sight,

I stumble, I fall, yet my eyes remain fixed,

I try to run, but in the moment of horror I slip,

Oh please, oh please, oh please, please save me.
