Of love and loss. Variation of my poem, For Lily.
Your eyes are empty,
Your body grows cold,
Soon I shall die
For my heart you stole.

Till death do us part doesn’t suffice,
Love continues after the final breath,
Love transcends all boundaries,
Our love couldn’t die with death.

Every breath of air
Brings me pain,
I live in torment
And you’re to blame.

Your heart has stopped beating
You will draw no more breath,
My heart beats on,
But it longs for death.

You have stopped my life,
You have stolen my heart,
But please take them both!
They’re worthless from you apart.

Wasting away in sorrow,
Cheeks stained by idle tears,
I live so sooner I may die,
I’m lost without you here.

The life I live is in my head,
In thoughts and memories dear,
Sometimes I think I hear your voice
Echo in my dying ears.

I doubt I’ll survive
With this threadbare heart,
It’s been lost, stolen, ripped out and broken,
Our love was my doom from the start.

Soon I shall follow
You to the grave,
My life you ended,
But my heart you saved.

You are my love and my life,
You are my doom and my death,
Your name is on my lips
As I draw my final breath.
