A poem about why some people stay in bad relationships.
Infatuation

I close my eyes, wishing I was dead,
but the world spins on outside my head.
With its sun and its rays and its cloudless sky;
I dreamt of you, but it was all a lie.

The sun sets in a fire of pinks and reds,
yet the world is black inside my head.
Without passion and love and your body near;
I dreamt of you, but no one's here.

I thought you'd return just like you said,
but the truth is known inside my head.
With your games and your smiles and your bitter lies;
I dreamt of you, but in disguise.

I wish I could get past the dread,
but its you who lives inside my head.
With the hurt and the pain and the emptiness;
I dreamt of you... but not like this.
