A dream I had once...
I felt it passing
I felt the shimmer of its ever fleeting touch
And I felt like dancing
But I knew that I would feel too much
And when that shimmer of her finger
Glided round in the stingray's linger
And finally twirled about my way
I felt the glistening shadows
Of the midnight sparrows
Begin taking my decaying breath away

The daylight drizzled
Leaking upon every window crack
And then it hustled
To show there was no turning back
But as the sun exploded hotly
Reaching the stars of Poseidon's Speedway
Until there was nothing left to burn
The windows then were shattered
And left my heart splattered
While I'd just begun willing to learn

Oh, why did the sun have to singe the midnight sparrows?
They only had a moment left to spare
I wonder if Poseidon would have let this happen
If he'd know of the damage we'd bear

The sun vanished
Just as quickly as it'd shone itself so bright
But now I'm famished
Hoping the journey had just eluded my decreasing sight
And as my hunger made me weaker
To the sparrows' seductive sleeper
That pinned me so tightly down that I screamed
I slipped upon the wonder
of the midnight sweeping thunder
And quickly erased all that I'd just dreamed

Oh, why did the night have to save the midnight sparrows?
They only had their sins left to bear
I wonder if Poseidon would have let this happen
If he'd known of the sparrows' intentions there
