About a person who travels back in time to 2012, only to be disgusted by what he sees.
Time travel.

I know I’m travelling alone,
but right at this moment I feel so far from home.
I’m not referring to a house or buidling or family dwelling,
I’m referring to the land that I know.

I belong in a land with rolling hills,
all different shades of green.
A land with running streams,
which flow soft and gently.
A land in which people are free,
what has become of humanity?

I took my chance to travel through time,
and this is what I find?
Foolishness and greed and immense stupidity.
If my family were to stumble across this , they would surely rage and cry.
They would burn with anger deep inside.

Concrete replaces my rolling hills,
the people run riot; apparently drug induced by pills.
My streams are polluted,
littered and no longer seclusive.
My people? Some are free,
Whilst some are riddled with devastating poverty.

Racism , Homophobia and consumerism appears to be,
The core of this society,
in this land where I do not belong..

And though my disappointment is clouded by pain,
for the horror these oblivious people are about to face,
it settles me to know,
that our fight was not in vain,
we had so much more than this to gain.

For my land is a time of future not past,
yes , there’s a time when peace is achieved,
and the world is freed,
from centuries of war and suffering and abuse,
At least I am safe in the knowledge, there will be hope for you people yet.
