Hopes are high, but fate is cruel.
I found a mermaid lying dead upon the beach,

she thought she'd get to hollywood, but it was far beyond her reach.

I guess she didn't listen, when experience would preach.

Murdered by a dream, not so different from our own..

.that led her 'neath the stars to a place too far from home.

When will the dozers learn?

It does no good to roam.
