A poem written for my sister's 20th anniversary.

One August day, twenty years past,
One man and one woman
Pledged love to one another
From their next breath to their last.

Two kids and a lifetime later
Their love still holds strong.
They've had their ups and downs;
Held each other close when things went wrong.

To those who haven't married,
It can seem a miracle of life.
This woman adores her husband;
This man cherishes his wife.

To you who are unknowing,
Their love may seem unreal.
It's a true and wondrous thing
This love they still feel.

In another twenty years,
We'll see them still together.
There'll be more laughter and tears
But their love will last forever.
