The poem is about one's destiny.
Destiny.

The earth underneath me,
Gnawed away.
Dreams of early childhood,
Washed away.

Regret I,
The unaccounted times,
Of carefree youth.
So Determined I Rise,
To undo the wrong.

Looking up at the sky
Unyielding,
Staring each demon in the eye.
But crushed I am,
By things beyond me.

So Helpless I stand,
Before Thee.
Is it…
My Destiny?
