Easy as one two three
Every night I live in thoughts not knowing,
will I meet my demise these distant shores.

Will I meet my demise with courage,
will I meet my demise with fright,
will I meet my demise with pain,
or will I see death pass, as two ships in the night.

Every night I wonder, what awaits my fate,
as I venture out for my duty, does death await.
Another time or place you would see me as friend,
yet hatred is abound all due to just who I am.

I am someone’s Father, Mother, Son or Daughter,
yet I am enemy to those not knowing my name.
Is death waiting, searching or wanting another soul,
all because of the country I serve, or the clothes I claim.

For every night I live in thoughts not knowing,
when my tour is over, or my service is ended,
will I take that journey home sitting in my chair,
or will I be covered with my countries flag.

For every night I live in thoughts not knowing,
will I meet my death on these distant shores.
