A release for a broken heart.
Clever conversation with a Southern drawl.
Candid opinions, but open ears.
Universal secrets revealed upon a cloud.

A tentative touch to an explosive penetration
Of all aspects: Body, Mind, and Soul.
Becoming a permanent distraction,
A constant craving.
Utterly unconcerned with whether it could be.
An expensive feeling.

Rough lessons learned in the wake of a divided heart,
Second place feels like last.
Words laced with convincing heartbreak
Leaving chasms in my sanity,
a bruised capacity for acceptance.

You have strengthened my resilience,
Fortified my independence,
Empowered my discretion,
But you owe me one thing:

Remember what I refuse to forget.
Remember me.
