They are unwelcome guests.
When a nifty new store opened up at the mall,
they were sure it would fly since they had wherewithal.
Just about all are welcome to mosey on in,
but the Waist Knots are not because they are too thin.

There are plenty of Waist Knots near archway and door,
when you think they are gone you will always see more.
There are Waist Knots abiding all over the place--
when that store opened up many Knots showed their face.

And since they are not wanted, they aren’t given due;
at the front of the store they are given a clue.
Because there an employee has smiles to share;
but the Waist Knots will only receive a cold stare.

The attraction the Knots have is not understood;
if the new store could help I’m not sure that they would.
But it’s perfectly clear there’s no profit in Knot;
it is simply a waste to give it any thought.

In the morning the manager opens the gate
and he studies the scene to see if Knots await.
He cannot, by law, ban them from under his roof;
so he sends them a message by acting aloof.

As the evening rolls ‘round there are Knots who will stay;
no one really can stop them nor get in their way.
In the store diet products are what folks espy;
but that’s something the Waist Knots have no need to buy.
