building strength through depression
Eliminated from a place I once called home
I walk endlessly, I survive alone
Sinking further into the remains of a deserted war
Dust that lingers on each tiny surface
-Just remains as evidence, that I previously existed
I cough, tough to breathe
Smothered air waves of polluted destruction
Disrupted thoughts constructed by self hatred
I try to dissolve them through my tears
Hard to walk away when you’ve lost your way
I see glimpses of my reflection, through a shattered mirror
Not recognising the person staring back
Can this really be me? Withdrawn? Secluded?
I pick up an unknown bulb
Promising to re-grow and feed another soul
Watch in time as it rebuilds itself
Knowing with my touch, we too can build a friendship
I start to notice my surroundings changing
Bright colours trespassing
The taste of freedom and self believe
Not looking back I smile into a new dimension
