A poem I wrote while struggling to learn life's hard lessons
I'm searching for answers
In all the wrong places,
Seeing light and kindness
In all the wrong faces.

When will I finally learn?

A saint is not a saint
Until they've proven their worth
But a demon is always a demon -
Doomed since birth.

When will I finally learn?

The saints in my life
Are demons in disguise -
I can see the smirks on their faces,
The mockery in their eyes.

When will I finally learn?

Finally the masks fade away -
I see the demons inside.
As they reach towards me,
I have nowhere left to hide.

When will I finally learn?
