Discussion question response.
Biases do not always have to be negative; if you know how to prevent biases from negatively affecting your writing, they can help you construct a strong argument or produce other successful written work. If you do not prevent your bias from taking over the essay, readers will assume you wrote your essay strictly with opinion, question your motive, and not take you seriously. The idea is to keep an open mind. Stand up for your preference, but be able to welcome the perspective of others as well. Remember to use facts, demonstrate all viewpoints equally, and try to limit the use of the first-person pronoun I.
