As it reads, light hearted poem
The gardener`s prayer.

Lord, thank you for the humble seeds,
although. I`m not so grateful for the weeds.
The flowers give me such delight,
but nettles? Not a pretty sight.

Thanks for the leeks so tall and slender,
my beans and peas, so sweet and tender.
But greenfly? Blackfly? Red spider mite?
My potatoes that are plagued with blight.

I don`t mean to moan so I ask your pardon,
but these pests and weeds are spoiling my garden.
I try so hard to keep them away,
yet there`s more and more, every day!.

With spade in hand I sweat and toil,
yet still these pests, my garden spoil.
I ask your help and if you would,
I promise to always be good.

So if you are looking down today,
please can you help me find a way,
to teach the slugs and snails to feed,
not on my plants, just on my weeds.

Amen.
