A poem about the emotional and physical roles of the genders and how they interact.
I will be your shield,
Protect you from words that hurt.
When I am afraid,
You are the one to check the noises in the dark.
From all the battles, there will be scars,
I will hold you if you cry.

Never raise a hand,
To the only one who knows,
How deep inside you can go.
Who will bring you out?
If I am cowering, afraid to go near...
We are both lost!

This is why we must be different;
Emotions are the inner strength.
What point is there to be emotionally strong,
If we are cut down?
Surely people would go insane,
To always be so scared...

This is why we must be different.
Brandish the sword with strength!
Protect the fragility of something precious!
But if nothing matters,
what is there to protect?
Desolation of the soul, nothing grows.

I will not speak painful words,
Or drive you away.
Why make someone so strong do awful things?
All of us will pay.
There must be balance,
or we will destroy each other.
