Poem - Patchwork Window
Patchwork Window

Patchwork Window,
old, worn, and ragged.
Makeshift barrier – brown and crimson,
tarnished gold like dying wind.
Unimposing,
            Uninspiring,
                        Unintentional.

Barrier Window,
hides a mysterious woman.
She comes out to light her cigarette,
a deep deliberate drag
and release, then hides behind her smoke
                                                        curtain.

Patchwork Woman.
Ragged attire – mismatched, misshapen,
withered like her withered curtains
Dry leaves crackle under pointed toes.
Choking smoke doesn’t appeal  l  o  n  g
Enough!

She lingers and leaves
into the unknown
world of white, bland blinds
And one
Patchwork Window.
