The Acrostic - Poem written by my dad.

The Acrostic

Time after time Deceit comes alluring,
Rehearsing mendacities, aversions and tragedy.
Uttering bards think only of Harmony.
Elegies may be beautiful, but not always assuring.

Lasciviousness and Mammon walk hand in hand,
Overwhelming man, spirit and soul.
Vagabond and Villainy glean from the lands,
Eternity, damnation or salvation are two ways to go.

Necromancy is grim, to all but the seer.
Embalmed is the love, not just some cadaver.
Vain as it seems, we all once were never-
Endlessly becoming the beginning of forever,
Recently stopping, but not staying, however.

Defiled and lost, we boldly must go.
Intrepidly facing the rapt, or the ghoul.
Embraced by the marl, we are finally home,
Spiritually cosmic, asleep in the loam.
