Just something fun.... inspired one morning.
A morning tourist passed by me
Cascading through the sky
Majestically carnivorous
Nature’s royalty by design

His eyesight though superior
He did not cast my way
No threat, no doubt intuitive
That dawn of summer’s day

An emblem of our greatest hope
Pinned on his wing in flight
How wonderful to see him soar
A heavenly delight

Ironic if you realize
He’s not concerned it’s true
What seeing him can instantly stir
Inside of me and you

A symbol though triumphant
His family shant deny
Old world vulture is his cousin
Though, in the same circles, they do not fly

It’s not an even parallel
To compare the feathered two
Just like the old guard gossipers
Comparing me and you

So remember where you come from
And, do not be led a stray
Aspire to the greatness of
The symbol not cliché

Oh treasured one
I’ll send to you on winds of cockcrow dew
A bid to wish your travels safe
That rings, red white and blue

And if you pass another
One as passionate as I
How bout a little nod or wink
As you do your fly by.
