A child desperately wanting to be heard, but never getting the opportunity.
Papa I love you,
Mama I really do.
But if you want me to stay,
Sometimes, just listen to what I say.

Hear me out sometimes,
I won't tell you to commit crimes.
Just listen to what I have to say,
Or be careful, you might just push me away.

And you didn't listen to what I said,
So I went and got up off of my bed.
Went out into the night,
Wrapped my jacket around me tight.

You didn't listen when I tried to share,
So I got on a bus to nowhere.
I looked back once, twice, maybe thrice,
Where I was going couldn't be more imprecise.

I cried myself to sleep on a park bench,
My heart was in a complete wrench.
Didn't know where I would go,
In my pocket, I had no dough.

I'd go anywhere, anywhere but home,
Nowhere to go, nowhere but the streets to roam.
